118 Rotary Club of Alexandra
Presented to the Club by M and G Brown after a make up in November 2009, while working out the Ride to Conference route for 2010. At this time, in the aftermath of the 'Black Saturday' bush fires - Saturday 7th February till 14th March 2009 - Alexandra Rotary Club was heavily involved with community aid and with the installation of new sheds on properties. These sheds would subsequently be used by the landowners as accommodation until their houses could be rebuilt.

LEGEND ON REVERSE: The Police Memorial depicted on the cover is situated in the main street of Mansfield. This monument was erected by subscription of the inhabitants of Victoria and New South Wales in honour of three Irish-born policemen, namely Sgt. Michael KENNEDY, Mounted Constable Michael SCANLON and Mounted Constable Thomas LONIGAN, in 1880. These three men died on the 26th October, 1878, while endeavouring to capture Ned KELLY and his band in that now epic fight at Stringybark Creek, in the Wombat Ranges a few miles out of Mansfield. To the left is the Courthouse which is a fine example of architecture of that era.
